VANCOUVER, BC, Sept. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- Farris LLP announces that it has filed a proposed class action against London Drugs. Darren Bernaerdt is named as the representative plaintiff for the proposed class.  Mr. Bernaerdt is represented by Michael Gianacopoulos and Nicholas Hooge of Farris LLP, and the Notice of Civil Claim was filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on April 24, 2026. The proposed class includes current and former employees of London Drugs and several other related entities whose personal information was allegedly compromised in an April 2024 cybersecurity incident.

London Drugs reported that, on April 28, 2024, it discovered that it had been "the victim of a criminal cybersecurity incident", in which "data from London Drugs' corporate environment was exposed, including certain files from its finance and human resource departments, which in some cases included employee information."

The claim alleges that the employee information that was exposed includes, at minimum, full names, postal addresses, social insurance numbers, and payroll information.

On May 23, 2024, Global News reported that London Drugs had confirmed the files had been leaked onto the dark web.

This proposed class action seeks compensation on behalf of current and former employees whose personal information was allegedly exposed and publicly released in breach of their privacy rights.
