Grow Together Market – Jumbo Plumbing
Regional Growth with a Focus on People
Alongside the fundraiser, Jumbo Plumbing is continuing to expand its workforce to support growing demand across St. Thomas, London, and Southwestern Ontario.
The company is actively recruiting licensed plumbers and plumbing apprentices, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, hands-on learning, professional development, and long-term careers in the skilled trades.
"Our growth has to mean more than simply adding trucks or serving more customers," said George Palmer, CEO of Jumbo Plumbing. "We want that growth to create opportunities for people, strengthen the skilled trades, and allow us to make a bigger impact in the communities that support us."
That commitment to mentorship is also one of the reasons Jumbo Plumbing chose to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Thomas-Elgin through the Grow Together Market.
Grow Together Market Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Thomas-Elgin
The central purpose of the Grow Together Market is to bring the community together while raising funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Thomas-Elgin.
The organization creates professionally supported mentoring relationships that help young people build confidence, develop meaningful connections, and realize their potential.
The event has been led by Luiz Oliveira, CMO at Jumbo Plumbing, with the goal of creating a community gathering that brings together local families, businesses, makers, musicians, and organizations around one shared cause.
"Grow Together is something I really wanted to build for the community, not simply another company event," said Oliveira. "The goal is to bring people together, showcase some of the amazing local businesses around us, and use that momentum to raise as much support and awareness as we can for Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Thomas-Elgin."
Oliveira said the connection to the organization is especially meaningful because of its focus on mentorship.
"Mentorship can completely change someone's direction in life," Oliveira said. "That idea is very close to what we believe in at Jumbo as we help apprentices grow into professionals. Big Brothers Big Sisters is making that same kind of investment in young people in our community, and that is really what Grow Together is about."
What to Expect at the Grow Together Market
Hosted at Wildflowers Farm, the event will feature local vendors, food and beverages, artisans and makers, live music, family-friendly activities, and community organizations.
The goal is to create a welcoming afternoon where families can spend time together, discover local businesses, connect with neighbours, and support an important local cause.
Businesses and organizations interested in becoming involved through vendor participation, sponsorship, donations, or community partnerships can also learn more through the official event page.
