OTTAWA, ON, June 23, 2026 /CNW/ - Government of Canada officials will hold an embargoed background media technical briefing on the Building Canada Act.

The media technical briefing will be for background information only, which can be attributed to "government officials." Audio and video recording of the briefing for broadcast purposes is prohibited.

The briefing and associated documents will remain under embargo until the start of the press conference with the Honourable Steven MacKinnon, Minister of Transport and Leader of the Government in the House of Common, the Honourable Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and the Honourable Rebecca Alty, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations.

Participants must not publicly discuss, publish, or otherwise disclose the materials or information in any form until the embargo is lifted. Any breach of these terms may result in the participant and/or their organization being prohibited from participating in future Government of Canada embargoed briefings. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions.
