MEDIA ADVISORY - Launch of Fraud Prevention Month - Bringing hidden crimes into the spotlight

OTTAWA, ON, March 6, 2026 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to a press conference where the Competition Bureau, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will officially launch the 22nd edition of Fraud Prevention Month (FPM) alongside partners from the Ottawa Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Bank of Canada. This announcement will focus on the impact of fraud in Canada, what FPM partners are doing to combat it, and tools Canadians can use to recognize, reject, and report fraud when they encounter it.

Following the Q&A, there will be opportunities for one-on-one interviews for media on-site with representatives from the participating organizations.
