- Companies participated in NBAA-BACE, an event that brought together more than 23,000 industry professionals and over 1,000 exhibitors.
SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, Oct. 26, 2026 /CNW/ -- Ten Costa Rican companies from the aerospace sector participated in an international trade event to identify new buyers and business partners, explore opportunities to join global supply chains, and follow up on existing business opportunities with key players in the international aerospace industry. Their participation was part of a broader strategy to expand the presence of Costa Rican suppliers in this sector. Another objective was to position Costa Rica as an attractive destination for new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the aerospace industry.
The companies participated in the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), held from October 20 to 22 in Las Vegas, United States. Recognized as one of the leading international events for business aviation, the convention brought together more than 23,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors from 98 countries. This marked Costa Rica's sixth participation with an exhibition space at the event.
"The aerospace industry offers opportunities for Costa Rican companies to bring their capabilities in advanced manufacturing, engineering, and technology into highly specialized international supply chains. Our participation in NBAA also showcases an increasingly diverse range of capabilities, including software, automation, maintenance, and logistics. Our goal is to continue creating opportunities for more Costa Rican suppliers to enter this industry and move toward more sophisticated, higher value-added activities, while identifying investment opportunities that contribute to strengthening and developing the country's aerospace ecosystem," stated Laura López, CEO of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER).
The delegation, led by PROCOMER and the Costa Rica Aerospace Cluster (CRAC), included ten companies offering capabilities across different segments of the aerospace value chain: Avionyx and Novacomp, specializing in software and hardware; Soltek and Olympic Precision Machining, in precision machining; AASA, in automation; All Jets and Global Technik, in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO); Aerologística and Interconexiones Multimodales de Carga (IMDC), in ground handling services; and GJ Cargo and IMDC, in logistics.
Companies Target Different Segments of the Aerospace Supply Chain
During NBAA-BACE, Costa Rican companies had access to businesses involved in manufacturing, maintenance, parts and accessories, design, engineering, software, and other specialized areas. Their participation provided an opportunity to follow up on potential business deals initiated during previous editions and establish new commercial contacts.
The event brought together operators, manufacturers, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders involved in purchasing decisions and the evaluation of solutions and technologies for the aerospace sector. The exhibition featured everything from commercial aircraft and private jets to eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft, which are powered by electricity and capable of taking off and landing vertically.
"The Costa Rica Aerospace Cluster's participation in NBAA 2026 reflects the evolution and diversification of the capabilities our country offers to the global aerospace industry. In addition to its recognized expertise in advanced precision manufacturing and specialized engineering, Costa Rica continues to strengthen an increasingly comprehensive range of aviation-related services, including maintenance, repair, technical support, engineering solutions, corporate services, and capabilities that support aircraft operations," noted Esteban Carrillo, Executive Director of the Costa Rica Aerospace Cluster (CRAC).
Carrillo added that "with PROCOMER's support, this participation helps foster strategic connections between Costa Rican companies and key industry players across international markets, creating new opportunities for business, investment, and collaboration."
Participation in NBAA was part of the international promotion and foreign direct investment attraction strategy developed by PROCOMER in collaboration with the Costa Rica Aerospace Cluster. The strategy aims to strengthen the presence of Costa Rican suppliers in specialized markets and promote the country as a nearshoring destination for companies seeking manufacturing solutions and services to support their supply chains and aviation operations.
Throughout 2026, this strategy also brought companies from the sector to specialized international events, including the Aerospace Innovation Forum in Canada, Aerospace Meetings Querétaro in Mexico, and the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom.
