New Cashew research finds menopause awareness is growing, but support and preparation haven't caught up.

CALGARY, AB, Oct. 1, 2026 /CNW/ -- We're talking about menopause. But are women ready for it?

Cashew is an AI-powered research platform that helps brands uncover original human perspectives faster. By generating fresh proprietary data with every study, Cashew helps brands create distinctive strategies, stories and content.

Menopause is more visible than it once was. Information is easier to find, conversations are happening earlier, and women have more places to turn for answers. But new research from Cashew suggests awareness is only part of the story.

Cashew surveyed 1,353 women across the U.S. and Canada and found that despite progress in how menopause is discussed, women are still navigating gaps in how informed, cared for and supported they feel.

"We're talking about menopause more than ever, but women are telling us that awareness hasn't translated into feeling prepared or supported," said Addy Graves, CEO of Cashew.

More Information Isn't Making Women Feel More Confident.

Younger women are hearing more about menopause than generations before them. But more information hasn't necessarily made the road ahead feel clearer.

Despite having more information, only 46% of Gen Z feel well-informed today, compared to 63% of Boomers, 60% of Gen X and 53% of Millennials.

The challenge isn't simply getting women more information. It's giving them information that actually helps them feel prepared.

Women Want Their Doctors To Start The Menopause Conversation.

Healthcare providers are women's leading source of menopause information. But women are often still the ones starting the conversation.

Among those who've discussed menopause with a provider, 29% had to bring it up themselves. What women want now is more proactive care, with routine screening questions at checkups topping their list.

Women Can Talk About Menopause With Their Doctors. At Work, They're Still Hiding It.

The comfort women feel in the doctor's office doesn't always follow them to work. One in four women have hidden symptoms from coworkers or managers out of fear of being judged.

For workplaces, the opportunity goes beyond policies. It's about creating an environment where women don't feel they have to hide what they're experiencing.
